intervention revelation

i am here to buy gold refined in the fire
naked and poor, wretched and blind i come

this week i had lunch with some old foxhole buddy friends.  we've been through some pretty rough times together.  no matter what i'm goin through i know beyond a shadow of a doubt they have my back.  they know how to speak into my life like no one else, and accept me unconditionally in the way my Creator has fashioned me and in my quest for truth and righteousness in this life that He has given me.  truly they are God's heart and mind extended to me.

anyway, i was going through a - v e r r y - frustrating time and had pretty much decided before we got together that i was going to ask them for an intervention of sorts before we parted that day. i needed to spill what was on the inside so that somebody (some trusted somebody(ies) on the outside could help me make sense of it all and put it all back into place in the order in which i was going to need it to be in. so that i could move on in the understanding of implementing whatever it was God was trying to communicate.  does that make sense?  only to me probly.  sometimes i find that the island existence is not very conducive to healthy growth and maturity. have you noticed that too?  sometimes i need HELP in working out my own salvation:)  in these times i am oh so thankful that we are a Body connected to a Head.  of course, you know me.... i could go on and on here.......

so anyway, after all was said and done and peace again reigned supreme, i made the remark that i sure wished i could stop focusing so much on myself so i could be a help to somebody else for a change.  to which they all exclaimed with one voice "WHAT?"  and then of course like friends usually do they began to tell me how much i encourage and help them and others, yada yada yada.................

my point in relaying this, blog, is that today i realized that even in my brokenness & times of inner turmoil and frustration i can still be a vessel of blessing and encouragement to others if it is truly the passion of my heart to do so......as i continue to walk with Him, He is ever depositing more of Himself on the inside of me....even when i can't see.  and this is as true for you as it is for me.   wow.  how humbling is that?  God truly can be good.....all the time.
