so i have come to the conclusion that i am a moody writer. in other words, i have to be in the mood to write. however sometimes i find that even if i am not in the mood, if i will just sit down and begin typing although things may start out a bit rocky, in the end something is fashioned that i did not conceive of at the onset. does that make sense?
i find that is pretty much how most things happen for me. perhaps it is because i am such a "doer". stuff tends to happen once i begin the process. and in the process something usually comes forth that i usually sit back at the conclusion and marvel at. i always give God the credit because well, that's the only thing i can figure, knowing Him and all and how He does stuff. at least through me.
i know that i am not using very many fancy words in this post, but i am not in the mood for fancy words tonight.
today i posted that i will begin making king cakes next week on my business facebook page and i have already gotten over 50 menu requests. oh dear. what have i gotten myself into?!
i raised my king cake prices rather drastically this year because i feel that i really do give my product away too cheap. i guess time will tell if people think it's worth it. i looked at a cake on ambrosia bakery's website today....a simple two tier stack with a few wired stars and the price was through the roof. i guess i really DO give my product away. i really don't want to rip people off, but i guess i will gradually have to add a few cents here and a few cents there to bring myself up to competitive market pricing. that's in the cake decorator's rule book and all.
charlie has been home for a week now and has been sick practically the whole time. that makes me so sad. i have prayed and prayed for him. i so want him to enjoy his time here and go back to minnesota refreshed and satisfied. also the crawfish are getting SUCH a slow start this year and he is not catching very many at all and they are still so small. and neither is my husband. they both have bills to pay. so come on already.
i pray that the next week and a half be fun and rewarding for he and steph before they head back to minnesota for the next leg of their journey.
well, nothing much has happened in the writing of this post that i can sit back and marvel at.
nevertheless.....over and out. and to God be the glory :)
