i love my husband....just sayin'.
tonight daylight savings time begins. so i need to hit the sack in approximately 30 minutes because i didn't get much sleep last night, and it'll be 10:30 even though it's really 9:30 or something like that. my crazy husband used to drive me crazy with that stuff. during the first weeks of a time change whenever i'd ask him the time he'd say, well it's really 11:30 but the clock says 12:30 or some such nonsense. i used to scream at him at every instance (almost) to please just face reality. the time had changed. this is what time it is. stop living in the past. good lord.
i always spring forward or fall backward waay before midnight in order to get a jump on things.
i was going to base this blog on some thoughts that came to me as i read the recent post of a loved one's blog, but now they escape me. pretty much. even though the family dynamics in which i was brought up are in no way comparable to hers and because of this i can never truly identify with how she processes her emotional stuff, i think it just sparked me to thinking that there was lots of times in the past that i felt distanced from my own natural family members. and there are also times in the present also. there was even a time in the past that i just knew that my church family absolutely took the place of my natural family. but God has brought me through some trying times through which He has patiently worked to bring within me a balance to all of that one-sided thinking. i mean, i need them all. they all "fit" into my life in some way or another. and even though i have wanted to countless times, i can't throw any of them away.... or run away from them myself (oh HOW i've wanted to run away....like the sands on the seashore are the times i've wanted to just.run.a.way.) my assignment over the past couple years has been and i reckon, continues to be to allow Him to show me just how this is so and how i can cooperate with Him in learning how to walk in relationship with them. i sure makes lots of mistakes. amen.
well, it looks like my pal nance may make it to italy, perhaps? we'll find out in a couple days. monday to be exact. sure hope it works out. although if she does have to back out i'll have to go as a "single" (since she and i are technically a "couple" on the trip roster). that means i'll get my own room baby. and that won't be half bad. so either way i figure i'm blessed.
well, i'm 6 minutes past bedtime. Lord thank you for my husband who is snoring softly in the other room. he drives me crazy half the time but i do love and appreciate You for the wonderful way You have made us to fit into each other's hearts and lives. amen.
