a day in the life

hung out with the fox-man today.  still as crazy as ever about his sea cwetures:)  he likes to go into the dogyard nowdays and sit at the foot of the oak tree playing with the acorns.  he likes it when molly and roux lick his face.  he has discovered my basket of shells and river rocks on the porch table.  i tell him the starfish, petrified seahorse and sand dollar are special and so he lets me hold them while he touches them.  he likes to take the rest out one by one and place them on the floor, then put them back into the basket, then dump it out again. friskey is in love with him and ecstatic i'm sure that she has someone to pay her the attention she deserves.  he loves her also, but sometimes she bothers him as she is wont to do.  so today i showed him how to give her a gentle shove out of the way.  let's just hope that little push stays "gentle".   we went to to the crawfish shed to see if we could find some crawfish, but they were all in the cooler in their sacks "sleeping". i pushed him in the swing and we sang songs about abc's, whales, sharks, dolphins, Jesus and  f.o.x.  spells fox.  we fingerpainted and he got frustrated a bit at first.  when he is frustrated he's not one to hide it :}  we had a picnic on the porch as always.  the door was ajar and the tv was on one of his channels.  towards the end of lunch, he perked up his ears at the music he heard and said "calliou is comin' on", so we moved inside.  calliou is a fav.  he stood in front of the tv munching his "dessert" until it was over.

i worked on my cakes in the kitchen while he took a good nap and when i went in to wake him he was sleeping so hard he wouldn't wake up.  i had to sing him awake and stroke his face a couple times.  when he wakes from his nap he immediately stands up and says "mimi", then "nemo".  that's because of our ritual of putting finding nemo in the dvd player before naptime and hitting the pause button.   i tell him when he wakes up nemo will be waiting.  it's the ritual.  we borrowed aunt pat's golf cart for the ride home.  i look forward to warmer days when we can roam the countryside in search of crawfish, whales, sharks, dolphins and whatever else our imaginations can conjure up:)

all in all a pleasant day in the neighborhood:)
