in Jesus' name amen

well, it's a few minutes before bedtime as usual when i sit down to blog.  one of these days ima do a "proper" one.

had three brides back to back today for wedding cake consultations.  my brain was slightly scrambled when i got done with the last one.  at least i took the time after each one to weed through my notes and get the proper elements in order for the designs.  it's gonna be a great year for weddings.  i now have nine on the books.  i'm a little bit in awe at a couple of the challenges i took on, but i know that they will cause me to stretch and grow.  i'm also going to have to practice a few skills beforehand so pray that i will be diligent to make the time and the time does not slip away, for then i will be tearing my hair out with stress at trying to finagle things to make it happen on the fly.

i'm noticing that i am getting a lot of repeat business from past brides for their children's cakes.  i'm also in awe of their loyalty to come back for more.  i guess they like me, they really like me:}  makes me feel sorta kinda like part of their family.

i was able to pray blessings over all of the brides today.  i always ask if we can do this before they leave.  i've only been turned down by one, and that was quite some time ago.  most are quite impressed and say, of course we're not gonna turn down a prayer!  we hold hands and they close their eyes obediently.  i always finish with a cheerful flourish that lets them know that God's not as sober as all that all the time and quite possibly enjoys a good laugh or two......one told me today that i really should look into the ministry, lol:)  hmmm...... ;)

p.s. fox is over tonight and he was being an extremely unhappy camper early on, so i put him on my lap and i gave him a little talk and i commanded quite matter of factly for the spirit of strife to leave him alone in Jesus' name...to which he quickly replied before the words were hardly out of my mouth....amen...and hopped right down.  now tell me that boy don't know how to end a prayer right:)
