happy anniversary to us
today is our anniversary. 38 years. it's been real. he chose me. i chose him. things coulda turned out oh so different. in spite of it all i'm ever so grateful for what they are. i know that i am loved and valued by him. and in my weakness i am given the grace to respond in kind. we have been and always will be one as long as there is breath in these bodies. may God grant me the petition of my heart of hearts and may our latter years be ever so much greater than our former.
our children have for the most part it seems, fallen out of the habit of acknowledging & honoring this milestone each year of the bond that brought them into existence. that makes me sad.
thanks for remembering ash. i know why you do. that makes me sad too.

I'm lucky Charlie remembers ours! Or his birthday, even. Hope you had a good anniversary! 38 years is definitely something to be proud of! (and I finally added this date to our yearly calendar! Somehow I could never remember which day it was! )
