last saturday was serio girls night out. we ate at louisiana pizza kitchen and then caught "the odd life of timothy green" at the perkins rowe cinema. cute movie. as we were filing into our seats (i was the first down the row) i looked back and mama was on the floor! she had taken a mis-step and fallen. all i could do was cover my mouth and start praying in tongues! that's all she/we need is for her to break a hip or any bone for that matter. thank God all was well and all she had was a scrape on one arm and numerous black and blue bruising on her arms and back. she is on blood thinners so she stays with purple marks up and down her arms, etc., poor dear. all she has to do is brush up against a wall or something and they magically appear. we found her some leg makeup to help cover them, but all it really does is kind of even it out a bit.
monday chuck and i had dr.'s appointments at the gastro clinic to schedule our his 'n her colonoscopies. such excitement to look forward to as we age:) i also talked him into running by at&t to trade my iphone in on a new one...yay! well, that was a real fun day......
had a nice lunch out yesterday at mike andersons to celebrate a friend's birthday. that was nice, although the crab 'n shrimp cake lunch special left much to be desired as far as i'm concerned. oh well, what did i expect for $9.95? but the fellowship was of the highest degree:)
chuck left yesterday for grand isle...again....to check on the a/c unit (looks like it is biting the dust and so that $550 we spent on freeon will now turn into $3550+). he said he caught about 6 trout today before the wind picked up and he had to go in. he's going to bring the boat back by the weekend and put her to bed under the carport for another long winter's nap. sigh. time flies by too fast sometimes....
i was supposed to get fox today, but i was feeling so under the weather with this dern headcold, so tomorrow will be our day. ima take him to greco's to get some new fishies for the fish kettle outside, as we have lost two and the remaining fish looks a bit lonesome:( the roof drains into the kettle. there is a v shaped chip in the top edge and so the water flows out of it when it rains alot. the fishies can float out if they happen to come up in that spot while it's overflowing.
our last day in grand isle i realized that chuck and i had not taken any pictures together and so in closing.....
next week i will head to gulfport for a short visit with my best friend nan. and then maybe perhaps possibly a short jaunt back to grand isle for labor day weekend. then it's back to work full force. i think i may be making a few changes. stay tuned.....
i was greeted with this when i stepped out onto the deck at the camp for my last cup of coffee before we left last saturday....
